DIY Car & Truck Stands

Updated: Sep 22, 2022

I recently needed to replace my transfer case in my 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62. The truck stands on the market for my 4,300 pound truck were either too expensive or not worth my time. So, here is a way I got around that by creating my own. 1. BUY 14 EIGHT-FOOT LONG 2X4's

2. CUT THEM EVERY 16"

3. PUT THEM TOGETHER WITH 3" NAILS OR SCREWS IN A SQUARE FORMATION

4. PLACE YOUR CAR OR TRUCK ON TOP (YOU CAN USE THE FACTORY JACK)

I went 10 boards high; that's 18 pieces of wood put together in a square formation. You can also make another set for the front wheels, bringing the entire truck off the ground. This would be good for transmission replacements, oil changes, or in my case a transfer case installation. Good luck and please let me know if you have any questions.
